Javier Gullón

RESUME

Javier Gullón is an award-winning writer whose screenplays have been produced since 2007. Originally from Spain, Gullón’s career launched in the US after the Toronto premiere of Enemy, adapted by Gullón and directed by Denis Villeneuve. Gullón’s feature script 478 captivated Hollywood and was produced by Protozoa Pictures the very same year. Gullón draws inspiration from the sciences to create new stories in genre. He sold 3 original science fiction short stories at auction, all of which he’s adapting. His most recent short story entitled “N”, sold in a 10-way bidding war across film and television.

In features, Gullón has written on assignment for Warner Brothers, Fox, Regency, and Legendary. He has also collaborated with filmmakers such as Denis Villeneuve, Darren Aronofsky, and Garth Davis. Gullón was nominated for a 2019 Goya Award for his adaptation of Advantages Of Traveling by Train.

In television, Gullón is developing Passengers with Johan Renck attached to direct and Michael London executive producing. Prior, he developed an original sci-fi series entitled Glare for HBO and Bad Robot.

Gullón began his career just after graduating university when he sold his first screenplay El Rey De La Montaña, which was produced with Gonzalo Lopez- Gallego directing. He currently resides in Los Angeles with his family.
