James Luckard
James Luckard is a screenwriter who combines his passion for film and expertise in history into his storytelling. Luckard’s career launched after his investigative thriller Silent Night sold to Fox pre- emptively with Susanne Bier directing. Luckard was then hired to rewrite an India-set thriller entitled Moment of Truth for Meera Menon to direct and Uday Chopra producing.
Luckard grew up near Washington, D.C., where his classmates were largely the children of international diplomats. He went to college at the University of Virginia, where he was a History major, with a focus on World War II and Cold War/Soviet Studies. Luckard then went on to pursue film studies at USC’s graduate film program, where he studied screenwriting and directing. He currently resides in Los Angeles and works in development at Alcon Entertainment, where he has been a part of productions including Spotlight, Prisoners, and Blade Runner 2049.
